Nicolás Moreno (1923-2012) studied at the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Grabado
y Escultura "La Esmeralda," at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plasticas "San
Carlos" at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Since 1951 he has
taught at La Esmeralda where today he is a professor, and he also teaches
at "San Carlos" of the INBA (Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes). His work
has been shown in Lima, Berlin, Prague, Warsaw, Tokyo, Paris, San Antonio,
Florence, Barcelona, Granoble and throughout México. |

Maestro Moreno has
created many murals, including two at the Museo Nacional de Antropología
e Historia in México - one in the Teotihuacán room and the other in the
Otomi-Pame room. Maestro Nicolás Moreno was a very gifted engraver as well
as an outstanding artist of Mexican landscapes.
