Sergio Rodriguez

Born in Eagle Pass, Texas in 1969, Sergio Rodriguez discovered his passion for art at Southwest State University, San Marcos (BFA 1992). He received his master's of art from the Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia in 1994.

Rodriquez's works are a concert of texture, color and images. The texture and color are dramatically experienced while the interpretation of the latter results from the interplay of the artist's creation and the imagination of the observer.
"I would like my work to be collectively sensed -- not read, not understood, but sensed, felt --in short, experienced."

The works of Sergio Rodriquez can be described as expressionistic abstract paintings. He has said about his work: "You look at a cloud and, based on your personality, you make images out of it. Of the shapes I was drawing, I started seeing faces. Then I actually started drawing the face."
